Tea Time in Taiwan

I was lucky enough to learn more about the traditional Taiwanese style tea ceremony culture during our visit to Taiwan. My mom’s good high school friend, Peggy, has been studying the art of the tea ceremony for 15+ years with a famous tea master, and during those years, has become a tea connoisseur herself.

Though this particular ceremony amongst close friends was simple, understated, and a bit more casual, it was such a unique experience watching all of the ceremonial steps: preparing the tea leaves and the tea set, pouring the tea, and tasting the tea. Every step in her movement was slow, graceful, but meaningful. And, the cherry on top? The experience was enhanced by the gorgeous lush green surroundings in the mountains.
