What is Haldi?
It is Turmeric, an orange-yellow rhizome that has been used for skin and beauty treatments for ages. A key ingredient of Indian curry as well as in Thai cooking, this spice is also known as “golden spice” or “spice of life.”
Regarded as the “herb of the Sun” by the people of the Vedic period, the ancients called turmeric as the Oushadhi, the healing herb, the one herb above all others. Turmeric has at least 6000 years of documented history as a medicinal plant, and been held sacred from time immemorial.
